4th Tuesday at Jackson Zone

Please join us from 6-8 p.m. on March 24 at Jackson Zone, 333 E. Grand River, East Lansing.

In 2013, Jackson National Life Insurance Company (Jackson) opened “The Zone” in East Lansing to attract local college students to the financial services industry. Today the office employs more than 245 part-time student employees, many of which are Michigan State University students. To open this office, Jackson refurbished the 33,000 square foot building on the corner of Grand River Avenue and Charles Street – formerly Barnes & Noble. The jobs provide an ideal opportunity for MSU and other local students looking for professional experience while attending college.

The Zone also provides additional avenues for Jackson to participate with local charities. The Jackson National Community Fund operations have relocated to the East Lansing site. This move puts the company’s charitable efforts in the heart of East Lansing and is meant to invite community partners to better engage with Jackson’s charitable programs. Jackson already contributes more than $1 million and thousands of volunteer hours annually to mid-Michigan nonprofits.

Complimentary appetizers and beverages will be provided by Jackson National Life Insurance.

Our Mission

The Grand River Connection seeks to develop a stronger network to support Lansing and East Lansing’s young and vital workforce. We exist to bring together young professionals in our community who are in their 20’s and 30’s. Our diverse, non-partisan group provides fun, social, and professional connections that encourage economic growth and community involvement where we live, work, and play.

Our History

The Grand River Connection was founded in Spring 2005 to fill a gap in the community. Greater (East) Lansing is a great place for college students and a great place to raise a family, but for those in between there was no viable social network. With a goal of filling that gap in mind, the GRC was born.

Young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s in the Greater Lansing area are welcome to join the group, and joining is very simple. There are NO membership fees, and most of our events are FREE! Simply sign up for our monthly newsletter by clicking the big button at the top right of this website.
