4th Tuesday at Wharton Center for Performing Arts

Join us from 6-8 p.m. at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts, located 750 E Shaw Lane in East Lansing, on Tuesday, May 24 for our May Fourth Tuesday Networking Event! We'll hear more about NextGen@Wharton.

Connect, Network and Engage with Wharton Center!

NextGen@Wharton connects young professionals from across the area with Wharton Center for Performing Arts, offering the chance to attend shows at a discounted rate, enjoy VIP events and get special behind the scenes access like backstage tours and the chance to meet Broadway performers.  It’s also a great chance to connect with other young professionals in a new and one-of-a-kind way!

How does it work? Performances are hand-selected by peers and a block of prime seats are reserved so everyone is seated together for a stellar performance. Special events are planned around each show, like a pre-show party on the stage or a party on the lawn. Tickets are specially-discounted for NextGen@Wharton attendees, and many events around the show are free for ticket holders including refreshments, ticket giveaways, prizes and more.

Come on your own, with a date, or a group of friends - you’ll be meeting people in a fun atmosphere and enjoying a great night out.

4th Tuesday at Lansing City Market

Join us from 6-8 p.m. for our Fourth Tuesday Networking Event at Lansing City Market, located at 325 City Market Dr. in Lansing.

Lansing City Market provides the Greater Lansing region, and out-of-town guests, a year-round, one-of-a-kind shopping experience in a family friendly environment. Established in 1909, the Market’s recent reconstruction along the Grand River has strengthened Lansing’s downtown corridor by creating a welcoming home for more than a dozen merchants. Currently the Market features a wide variety of merchants offering: kayak and canoe rentals (weather-permitting), beer, wine, produce, grocery items, artisan cheese, organic meat, natural health care products, bbq, gift items, and a full-service bar and grill.

New vendors are coming in regularly now, so stay up-to-date on what's happening at Lansing City Market by signing up for our weekly email newsletter. It is going to be a great summer! Be sure to spend part of yours at the Market.

Complimentary appetizers, sponsored by Change Media Group, will be provided by Red’s Smokehouse and Hill’s Cheese. A cash bar will be provided by the Waterfront Bar & Grill.

Our Mission

The Grand River Connection seeks to develop a stronger network to support Lansing and East Lansing’s young and vital workforce. We exist to bring together young professionals in our community who are in their 20s and 30s. Our diverse, non-partisan group provides fun, social, and professional connections that encourage economic growth and community involvement where we live, work, and play.

Our History

The Grand River Connection was founded in Spring 2005 to fill a gap in the community. Greater (East) Lansing is a great place for college students and a great place to raise a family, but for those in between there was no viable social network. With a goal of filling that gap in mind, the GRC was born.

Young professionals in their 20s and 30s in the Greater Lansing area are welcome to join the group, and joining is very simple. There are NO membership fees, and most of our events are FREE! Simply sign up for our monthly newsletter by clicking the big button at the top right of this website.
